This November 7th you can elect a Ward 9 Councillor that already has a proven record of accomplishments!

Here are just a few of them….

Speaking at the Groundbreaking for the new Moody Street Fire Station - Robert Logan chaired the site selection committee that recommended the acquisition of the old “Young Building” for this project and worked with Councillor Harris to secure funding for construction.

Councillor Logan, here speaking at the dedication of the reconstructed Peter Gilmore Playground (High Street), was instrumental in pushing for funding for improving our public parks and playgrounds including Nipper Maher Park (West End), McDonald Playground (Newton Street), and Thompson Playground (Charles Street).

This property was slated to become a construction equipment storage area, but Councillor Logan sponsored a resolution calling for the City to acquire it for open space. This is the only new open space South of Main Street in many decades.

When the School Committee declared the former South Junior High building as surplus, Robert Logan Chaired the South Junior Reuse Committee which recommended it be converted to its current use as the Waltham Community & Cultural Center.

Councillor Robert Logan introduced the Resolution that led to the creation of the Waltham Downtown Revitalization Committee, and later served as Chair of that committee, which turned a failing 1950s style retail area into the thriving downtown we have today. Councillor Logan wrote and sponsored numerous ordinance amendments to promote business, including Zoning amendments that led directly to the opening of new businesses such as Fire Cycle and Game Underground on Moody Street. He also sponsored amendments to allow restaurants to have tables and chairs on sidewalks and to exempt the first 50 seats of outdoor seating from the parking requirement. Robert Logan has been a true Champion for our Downtown!
